We're excited to welcome back the upcoming Thrifty Newcastle 500, Supercars event. This thrilling race takes place in 10-12 March 2013, and we can't wait to see the top drivers compete on a challenging 2.6km street circuit that showcases some of the city's most iconic landmarks.
At Newy Rides, we're happy to announce that we'll be operating a revised bike tour route across all of our tours over the weekend of the Thrifty Newcastle 500. This will allow visitors to easily travel around the city avoiding the road closures around the event.
Fans of the Thrifty Newcastle 500 will also be treated to two incredible nights of entertainment. On the opening night, we have the legendary Australian rock band Icehouse headlining, along with Jon Stevens and The Screaming Jets. On the second night, we'll have Aussie hip hop icons Hilltop Hoods headlining, with supporting acts including Thelma Plum, San Cisco, Newcastle’s Trophy Eyes and Trials. Concert access is included in all same day event tickets, so be sure to take advantage of this great entertainment lineup.
